Tone Studies, commissioned for and premiered by Jordan Lulloff, is based on a set of six Chorales that are derived from JS Bach's 371 Four-part Chorales. Composer David Maslanka uses these chorale melodies as a basis for showcasing the expressive color palette and artistic tonal control of the alto saxophone.
